contraria. is a creative production company founded in Barcelona in 2022 by Albert Aynés Clapés and Laura Egidos Plaja with the aim of producing interesting stories for all audiences:
interesting is that content that has an impact on the viewer. We like stories that entertain and engage the audience, but which are also thought-provoking.
stories, in the broadest sense of the word, are fiction or documentary short films, feature films and TV shows, podcasts, new narrative formats... or whatever is yet to come. We believe that what matters is what we tell and to choose the most appropriate format for each story.
creative production company is a way of working that defines us. We like to work hand in hand with the authors from the beginning, becoming a team which takes care of the projects.
contraria is the space we have created to precisely contradict each other, debate and build the best possible stories.
Since its creation, at contraria. we have produced the short film "Lion Dreams" (2023), directed by Jordi López Navarro; and we are developing his debut feature, "The Day After", selected in the 2023 FanPitch of the Sitges Film Festival and in the 2024 Genre Rules Inspirational Lab of WEMW. Currently, we are also in post-production of Alberto Gross Molo's next short film, "As It Was".
In addition, we are in the development and financing phase of several projects. Among them, Gross Molo's debut feature, "March 14th", finalist of the XIX Julio Alejandro Screenplay Award of the SGAE Foundation and participant in the international workshops Ekran+ 2021, My First Script 2021 of the Zagreb International Film Festival, Faberllull 2022, La Incubadora ECAM 2023, D'A Film Lab 2024, New Hrizons Studio+ 2024 (winner of the Producers Guild of Poland Award) and Berlinale Talents Script Station 2024. The film has also been selected for the 2025 EFM Co-Production Market within the Talent Project Market.

Bayona); and at the international sales agency Film Factory. Since 2018, she also works as a freelance in development and financing of projects for different production companies. Among others, she is executive producer of the short film "SOLO" (2022, Alberto Gross Molo), nominated for the Gaudí Awards 2023 and candidate for the Goya Awards 2024. She has also participated as an emerging producer at La Incubadora ECAM 2023, Acció Producció 2024 by Dones Visuals, the Rotterdam Lab 2024, Locarno's Match Me 2024 and Berlinale Talents 2025. In 2024 she was also featured in Variety's article "10 Emerging Spanish Producers to Watch".
