contraria. is a creative production company with the aim to produce interesting stories for all audiences:

interesting is that content that has an impact on the viewer. We like stories that entertain and engage the audience, but that are also thought-provoking.

stories, in the broadest sense of the word, are fiction or documentary short films, feature films and TV series, podcasts, new narrative formats... or whatever is yet to come. We believe that what matters is what we tell, choosing the most appropriate format for each story.

creative production company is a way of working that defines us. We like to work hand in hand with the authors from the beginning, becoming a team which takes care of the projects.

contraria is the space we have created to precisely contradict each other, debate and create the best possible stories.

about us

contraria. was founded in Barcelona in 2022 by Albert Aynés Clapés and Laura Egidos Plaja. Since then, we have produced the short films "Lion Dreams" (2023, Jordi López Navarro – selected at Show Me Shorts, among others); "As It Was" (2024, Alberto Gross Molo – Cleveland International Film Festival, FESCIGU and Madrid Film Festival FCM-PNR, among others); and "Mirror" (2025, Gerard Vidal Barrena - director of "Yesterday's Two Nights", feature film winner of the Biznaga de Plata for Best Director at the 2020 Malaga Film Festival).

Moreover, we are developing several projects. Among them, Gross Molo's debut feature film, "March 14th", finalist for the XIX Julio Alejandro Screenplay Award from the SGAE Foundation and participant in many development labs: 2021 Ekran+ (Poland); 2021 My First Script from the Zagreb International Film Festival (Croatia); 2022 Faberull (Spain); 2023 La Incubadora ECAM (Spain); 2024 D'A Film Lab (Spain); 2024 New Horizons Studio+ (Poland), where it won the Producers Guild of Poland Award; and 2024 Berlinale Talents Script Station. The film has already secured funding from the ICEC and the ICAA and also participated in the Talent Project Market 2025, within the EFM Co-Production Market, where it won the VFF Talent Highlight Award.
